The Institute for Professional Development (IPD) is a standing committee of the Academic Senate that helps faculty members to design, plan, and achieve their own professional growth objectives. IPD performs its functions on the basis of policies provided by the District Professional Pursuits Committee, the District Sabbatical Leave Committee, the Academic Senate, the college President, and the AFT/CCCD Agreement.

Part-Time faculty teaching less than 7.4 LHE in the District are covered under the Coast CCA contract. This may change semester-to-semester. Faculty who teach or go over 7.5 LHE, are covered under the Institute for Professional Development (IPD) in accordance with the CFE contract, the full-time Union at Coast, which has a different process and different amounts of available funds. You may contact your division office to confirm your district-wide LHE.
