The LibreText Project is a leading, non-commercial open textbook organization initiated at the University of California, Davis, and many other higher education institutions, including a wide variety from California, including CSUs, private universities, and several community colleges.
Initiated and operated by the CSU System, the library holds more than 40,000 curated and rated items. The MERLOT Collection consists of tens of thousands of discipline-specific learning materials, learning exercises, and Content Builder webpages, together with associated comments, and bookmark collections.

OpenStax is a nonprofit educational technology initiative based at Rice University. Since 2012, OpenStax has created peer-reviewed, openly-licensed textbooks, which are available in free digital formats and for a low cost in print. Most books are also available in Kindle versions on Amazon.com and in the iBooks Store.
